kidnappedincolor: Repertory Philippines’ Sweeney Todd.
This wasn’t bad. I actually liked it a lot, since everyone was so intense while singing. The main Sweeney Todd song got stuck in my head, lols. Anyway, Menchu Yulo was amazing as Mrs. Lovett. I laughed so much during her parts. I guess everyone was really good. My mom and I just didn’t like the girl who played Joanna because of her kinda horrible Brit accent. And pssh, my mom said she’d sleep through the whole thing. She ended up enjoying it in the end. It was a pretty nice play, all in all. It was a bit draggy in the beginning, but everything turned out to piece together perfectly.
Was able to watch it this afternoon. Rep never fails to amaze me. :> I especially liked the seamless transitions in every scene. The leads, Audie Gemora and Menchu Lauchengco-Yulo, were cast perfectly (I liked their vocals much, much better than the movie version IMHO). No regrets on being dragged out of a productive afternoon at home just to see this. <3
